About Heritage Montessori School
Heritage Montessori was founded in 1981 by Catherine Szeto. The school, located in Joppatowne at the time, enrolled 14 children aged 3 to 5 years. In 1983, the school moved to Perry Hall, a community that was on the verge of robust growth at the time. It continued with one Preprimary/Intermediate class, and also a Saturday Toddler program.
In 1985, another Preprimary class was added to the school. In 1988, expansion began into the elementary grades by adding first grade to the program, and in 1993, the Elementary program began its expansion until in 1997, the first sixth grade child was enrolled.
Today, we offer weekday Stepping Stones program classes, morning and afternoon Pre-Primary classes, Full Day Pre-Primary and Intermediate classes and the full range of Elementary classes from grades 1 through 6. Art, music, physical education, and Spanish classes round out our academic programs.
Before and After School Care is available to the students. We are able to accept flexible schedules within our hours of operation, helping working parents to maintain their work schedules without making a lot of special arrangements for child care.
A strong parent group supports and enhances a vital community feel and sense of belonging amongst the families.
